The 14/11/2008 was published ISO 9001:2008 implemented in Italy the 26/11/2008 with the publication of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008.

The new standard does not change the ISO requsiti 9001:2000 and not introducing new ones, but inserts some changes to improve compatibility with environmental management systems.

In brief:

- ISO certifications 9001:2008 may be issued only after verification of scheduled surveillance or recertification.

- after a year of publication (14/11/2009) Certification Bodies can no longer issue new certificates and renewals in accordance with ISO 9001:2000

- the validity of ISO 9001:2000 will expire two years after the publication of new edition of the standard (14/11/2010).
